At the company's headquarters in Elze, Graaff primarily manufactured railway wagons. In 1921, series production of tank cars for industry began. From 1950 onwards, Waggonbau Graaff further expanded its production range for rail transport. Freight cars for domestic and foreign railways as well as special tank cars for chemical products were developed.

VTG Aktiengesellschaft is a listed, leading international wagon hire and rail logistics company. The Group operates worldwide and has the largest private fleet in Europe with around 80,000 rail freight cars.
