Dr. Philipp Hofstetter is Senior Advisor at Saxenhammer.
After completing his doctorate at the University of Zurich, Philipp Hofstetter joined STG-Coopers & Lybrand, where he worked in the areas of audit and corporate finance. He was subsequently seconded to PwC US, where he was involved in cross-border transactions between the US and Europe as well as transactions within the United States. Following this assignment, he moved to UBS Investment Bank in Switzerland, working as a project manager for investment banking advisory transactions. In 1999, he returned to PwC to take over the leadership of the Corporate Finance business. Under his direction, this business developed into a market leader. At the same time, he was a member of the global leadership team of PwC Corporate Finance and served as relationship partner for a number of PwC clients.
After many years leading the Swiss PwC Corporate Finance business, Philipp Hofstetter went on to build and head the PwC corporate finance (investment banking advisory) business in the United States. Under his leadership, the business grew to around 100 highly qualified team members.
Upon his return to Switzerland, Philipp Hofstetter entered the private equity industry, where he has been active in both fund and direct investment activities.
Philipp Hofstetter is an experienced corporate finance expert with an impressive track record in building and leading teams, as well as extensive experience in both domestic and cross-border private equity transactions, private and public buy-side and sell-side lead advisory services, financial due diligence, and valuations. His sector focus includes financial services, industrials, and green energy. He spent the majority of his 35-year career in Switzerland and the United States, but also initiated and executed transactions in other parts of the world.
